Domaine De La Romanee-Conti 1985 Romanee-Conti Grand Cru

It is not every day that you get to taste one of the world’s finest wines.

For us yesterday was that day!

We have many of the world’s best wines in our cellars at Sails, however the jewel in the crown is without a doubt the 1985 Romanee-Conti.

This bottle, along with another, has been residing in our cellars for over 15yrs.

As this wine is now reaching its peak drinking, it was decided (by our exceptionally generous owner) that we should check its character.

And so a select few of us were privileged enough to drink this iconic wine in what was almost a ceremonial experience.

What was it like?? Words cannot explain!

Luckily there is one other bottle still in stock and available for sale. And might I add, it is very reasonably priced at $15,360, considering that recently a bottle of this vintage sold at auction for over £9,000.
